Why consider drug testing Students and/or Support Staff?

Drug abuse and alcohol misuse is nothing new, its been going on for thousands of years.  It has also endangered human life and destroyed families for the same time period.  How can you stop it?  You can't.  What you can do is eliminate it from your work place or school district.  You can send a very strong message to drug abusers.  If a person uses illegal drugs, they shouldn't even apply for work at your company or participate in extracurricular events at your school district. Drug abuse and alcohol misuse cost our society millions of dollars each year, not to mention the devastating cost on family members.
