Special attention should be taken when conducting point of collection drug testing.

1. Check the package to make sure the device does not show any evidence of tampering.
2. Check the expiration date.
3. Open the device's package in the presence of the donor.
4. Follow the directions of the "Package Insert", found in testing device box, fully when conducting the test.
5. If the testing results are in question, the sample should be sent for GC/MS confirmation to SAMSHA approved laboratory only. This will insure the confirmed GC/MS results may be completely defensible.
